Sometimes being a mom is so the same everyday. Know what I mean?
Same dishes to wash, same undies to fold, same toys to pick up off the floor, same bums to wipe....etc
Today was a day that was hard. I kind of felt overwhelmed looking at the same messy house. Even the kids were a mess. (I don't know what happened....they were freshly bathed yesterday.)
I'll be honest, I got a bit down. I felt sorry for myself. I was thinking about how unlucky I was.
Then I was struck with a thought. Actually it was a series of thoughts...
Dirty dishes in the sink means that I was lucky enough to cook for and share a meal with the people I love.
Dirty clothes in the hamper means that four tiny people wore those clothes to learn, grow, and play in.
Toys all over my house means that my kids traveled all over the world being pirates, princesses, and superheroes today.
I just needed a shift in my thoughts. Gratitude goes a long way in adding to your happiness. Sometimes when I look at what I don't have, I miss out on all that I do have.
